Client vs. Users
We went through the visualization activity in the Concept Development class today. It's fun to watch how different phrases or words can change the moods of the same picture. I wasn't really interesting in the activity; instead, I was more engaging in listening the topic, which I refer as "Client vs. Users."
It is not a hearsay, I often get compliant from my friends who do freelance works tell me about how their clients being extremely picky in terms of graphic design. I would definitely feel the same way as they do If my client is trying to give me his/her ideas instead of trusting mine because if clients, whom believe their ideas are better, trust their instinctive judgement, why they hire graphic designer in the first place?
My idea is that if I were to design something for anyone, I would stick with my own idea no matter how he/she persuades me that his/her idea is better. I would make them agreed with me by convincing them that my design is intended to suit the users' need not theirs. Realistically, it definitely takes guts to convince clients while not offending them.
Regardless of convincing clients, the idea that designing for the Users is essential to know whether your design works or not.
